august lee
Hi folks! My name is AugustLee and I am a recent graduate of the Wendell Berry Farming Program of Sterling College in Vermont. Wildlife, agriculture, and education are my professional passions and all kinds of art are my personal passions! Read my blog to see what's up in the homestead life and hear my thoughts. The online store is now open! As you peruse my pictures at your leisure, you will notice my pets Possum (blue eyed coffee-colored stripey fat cat); Persephone (Lighter grey young kitten); Puff, Flick, and Dab (geckos). You will also notice the fine folks of the WBFP, the Berry center, our speakers, and the folks of our home and travels. Feel free to comment or contact me with questions and proposals for art projects!
Mission statement
Honoring traditional and heritage knowledge we aim to move forward in the face of agriculture. Through shared knowledge with the young and old, we hope to establish a space for creative problem-solving and inspiration with our neighbors and community. We are dedicated to a variety of teaching and learning experiences on the farm— be it believing that knowledge comes from experiences and experiences are sensory. We are dedicated to immersing all of the senses in the wonder of farmstead and wilderness. We are dedicated to preserving biodiversity with heritage breeds of poultry and wool sheep to feed the creative and dietary appetites of our community.
Values
I am a feminist, I believe Black Lives Matter and condemn hate, I am an ally. I stand for love, I try to be eco-friendly and ecologically aware, I believe in being a good neighbor, a good citizen, and a good friend.
